Stay away from people who can't take responsibility for their actions and who make "you" feel bad for their poor behavior. That is not having a loyal person in your group/circle/tribe.
Narcissist's will pretend to be loyal and supportive. But some will only "love you" as much as they can use you. It should take a while for you to see someone's core, who they are, what they believe in ect...
For so so many, their "loyalty" ends where the benefits stop... Remember, even the suttle way someone treats you says absolutely nothing about YOU but everything about THEM!"
Yeah it can be hurtful when you have to put up boundaries to protect yourself, BUT wouldn't you want to know up front and not spend years of your life being used?
Here are some qualities of a loyal person:
- They treat you like a person. They do not talk down to you like your ka-ka!
- They tell you what you least want to hear.
- They never criticize you in front of others.
- They disagree in private. They bring it to you first and try to work it out.
- They totally support your decisions - and you - in public.
Just remember there will always be a reason why you meet people. EITHER you need to change in your life OR you're the one that'll change theirs!
