Kings Community Church which has a congregation of over 1000 has recently purchased part of the former AECC as its new base. The deal includes Balgownie One which is a 6 story office block. The church has submitted a planning application to cover change of use with space given to a food bank - storage and distribution hub, social interaction space, a retail floor and one floor given over to office space.
Harry was delivered 11 weeks early. He had live saving surgery and care at Aberdeen's Maternity Hospital and is making good recovery a year on. His family, friends and community have set up Harry's Fund as a way of fund raising to give back to those who gave Harry the very best of care. Over £7,200 has been raised for the Neo natal ward. The fund was set up by family photographer Kevin Buchan who plans to donate 10% of every private commission he takes in 2021 to the fund.
John Sergison has been busy during lockdown to develop a redundant area of ground at Tillydrone to an area which can be used and enjoyed by the local community. The scheme is called Earth 'n' Worms. John, who is a tree surgeon is running open sessions where people can learn about the soil, the microbes and how to get the best from the soil, involve people in digging and planting. The work of Sunrise Partnership continues under new management after Founder Eileen Wheeler retired. The real heart of Sunrise Partnership is to fill a gap where many bereaved children and young people were falling through the net in terms of care and counselling. Sunrise Partnership helps young people through the process of grieving for as long as it takes. Methods to achieve this have had to change because of Covid 19 but the ethos remains the same.
