The Knights of the Golden Circle

In episode two of From the Foothills we explore the history of the Knights of the Golden Circle a secret organization behind the secession of the South. After the war its mission changed to securing wealth to fund an effort to re-establish the Confederate States of America. Jesse James has been linked to the KGC and many believe his efforts to help refund the Confederacy through the robbing of banks and railroads. Could this have been the reason that Jesse James faked his own death in 1882?
