Mid-Session 9 May 19: Local shares lift with telcos the standout

The Australian sharemarket is managing to overcome a mixed lead from Wall St to improve at lunch. The ASX 200 is 24 points higher to 6293. Most sectors are higher with telcos standing out. Telstra (TLS) is up 2.5% while TPG Telecom (TPM) & Hutchison (HTA) are improving from steep losses yesterday when it was announced that the proposed merger would be blocked.
