Morning Report 14 August 19: Wall Street rises as trade tensions fall

US sharemarkets rose sharply on Tuesday after US President Trump announced delays in imposing new tariffs on Chinese goods. Technology, communications services and consumer discretionary sectors led the gains. The Dow Jones rose by 372.5 points or 1.4%, the S&P500 closed was up by 1.5%, while the Nasdaq gained 153 points or 2.0%.
