The president of the European Commission told MEPs this morning that the EU and the twenty seven members states stand firm and united when it comes to Ireland and the Brexit negotiations. He said it was not an Irish issue but a European issue. Jean-Claude Juncker made his comments during a debate on Brexit in the European Parliament this morning. MEPs will tomorrow vote on a draft resolution that lays out the Parliament’s position on a possible framework for future EU-UK relations. The Fine Gael MEP Deirdre Clune said Mr Juncker was strong on Ireland and the border question.
