Basketball legend and Hall of Famer Charles “Charlie” Scott joins Ray for an in-depth conversation about his historic basketball journey. A 2018 Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame inductee, Scott reflects on his days at Rucker Park in New York City, becoming the first African-American scholarship athlete at the University of North Carolina, and his pivotal role in integrating Black players in the NBA. Scott also shares stories of competing with and against all-time greats like Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Julius “Dr. J” Erving, winning an Olympic gold medal with Team USA in 1968, and the impact his trailblazing career had on basketball history.
