Market Close 14 May 19: Further losses for shares as US-China trade tensions rise

The Australian sharemarket came under selling pressure, following large losses on Wall Street. Concerns about US-China trade tensions intensified after China said it will impose higher tariffs on US$60 billion of US imports. The ASX 200  fell 57 points or 0.9% to 6,239 as banks were again the major weight.
