Market Close 16 Apr 18: Energy stocks rally on surging oil prices

The ASX 200 has finished the session up 12 points or 0.2% to 5,841 as investors shrugged off rising tensions in Syria. Energy stocks surged after the price of oil jumped 8% last week.
