Types of Cuts: all leave a scar, some noticeable some not!
Abrasions, Incisions, Lacerations, Punctures, Evulsions, Traumatic,
Even in the most traumatic of experiences, most people do not really know how much they are hurting you!
Sources of spiritual wounds are avenues through which spiritual wounds come from. They are doorways Satan gains legal entry in his mission or ministry to “steal and kill and destroy,” John 10:7. There are four doorways Satan gains entry. These are through:
1) deception,
2) ignorance,
3) sin, and
4) storms of life
By his wounds and suffering we are healed!
Isa 53:4 But the fact is, it was our pains he carried-- our disfigurements, all the things wrong with us. We thought he brought it on himself, that God was punishing him for his own failures.
Isa 53:5 But it was our sins that did that to him, that ripped and tore and crushed him--our sins! He took the punishment, and that made us whole. Through his bruises we get healed.
Isa 53:6 We're all like sheep who've wandered off and gotten lost. We've all done our own thing, gone our own way. And GOD has piled all our sins, everything we've done wrong, on him, on him.
Isa 53:7 He was beaten, he was tortured, but he didn't say a word. Like a lamb taken to be slaughtered and like a sheep being sheared, he took it all in silence.
Isa 53:8 Justice miscarried, and he was led off-- and did anyone really know what was happening? He died without a thought for his own welfare, beaten bloody for the sins of my people.
Isa 53:9 They buried him with the wicked, threw him in a grave with a rich man, Even though he'd never hurt a soul or said one word that wasn't true.
Isa 53:10 Still, it's what GOD had in mind all along, to crush him with pain. The plan was that he give himself as an offering for sin so that he'd see life come from it--life, life, and more life. And GOD's plan will deeply prosper through him.
The bible says, “A man’s spirit sustains him in sickness, but a crushed spirit who can bear?” Proverbs 18:14
“A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones,” Proverbs 17:22.
When we go to the Doctor we may have a wound, and he looks at it and takes care of it, but we don’t get mad if at the end of the visit it is not 100% healed. It takes time. But why time?
Why not instantly?
Psalm 119 faithfulness in affliction.
We draw on him
We seek his word
We can tell of his faithfulness – you need to overcome to have a great story!
We can heal others!
Time causes us to reflect on our behavior – do we hurt others?
The secret to making lemonade… it’s not the sugar – you gotta have the lemons, and the more sour they are the better the lemonade.
