Lately, lots of emails have been coming in expressing concern that radical Muslims may be setting up shop in Latin America intent on making their way through Mexico up to the states. Today we offer some more surprising “boots on the ground” insights on the subject.

Many expats prefer a slow, laid-back life in the boonies or a small town. For some time that’s been my choice too. Today we’ll be offering some important tips and suggestions to make life easier if you choose that particular option for your “Plan B”

#3-Did you know that Panama has enacted permanent price controls on twenty-two different basic food items? Shades of Bernie Sanders! That’s reason #435 why Panama is not nearly the expat paradise it once was. Drastic measures like experimenting with price controls (which always fail and cause more dislocations) indicate big problems in an economy. But politicians know they are a great short term way to garner millions of votes from the uneducated masses.
