One — An Israeli official says what his country's military has had to do against Hamas is unprecedented in world history. Speaking on ABC's This Week, Israeli Minister of Strategic Affairs Ron Dermer stressed that Israel is trying to avoid harming Palestinian civilians while fighting an enemy that's right on its border.
Two— The Michigan Public Service Commission has approved the pipeline tunnel project for Enbridge Incorporated's Line 5 pipelines under the Straits of Mackinac. Officials say they determined the concrete tunnel is the best option to mitigate the dangers the current pipeline represent. The pipelines were originally built in 1953 and run from Superior, Wisconsin to Ontario carrying crude oil and natural gas.
And number three — Police in New York are investigating a fatal stabbing in Queens Sunday that left five people dead and two officers injured. Officials say police responded to a 9-11 call from a woman who said her cousin was killing her family. Police say the suspect, 38-year-old Courtney Gordon, fatally stabbed four family members before leaving and getting fatally shot by police.
