On today's Out d'Coup Xtra, Kevin Mahoney welcomes Chris Robé to the program. Chris is the author of the new book, Breaking the Spell: A History of Anarchist Filmmakers, Videotape Guerrillas, and Digital Ninjas, published by PM Press. When he's not organizing or doing activist research, Chris is an Associate Professor in Film and Media studies at Florida Atlantic University. He’s published essays on radical media in journals such as Jump Cut, Rethinking Marxism, and Journal of Film and Video. He has also written the monograph, Left of Hollywood: Cinema, Modernism, and the Emergence of U.S. Radical Film Culture. He is also a frequent contributor to the online journal PopMatters.
