OUR LIFE IS WHERE ITS AT Based on our beliefs – 

 

 

BASICALLY - we choose that which we feel is less painful.  So we think that the pain of going back to school is worse then the pain of staying at a dead end job!  

 

 

TALKING TO SOME TEENAGE BOYS IN A HIGH SECURITY PRISON… WHY ARE YOU HERE?

BECAUSE YOU CHOSE WHAT WAS EASY!

 

 

Romans 12:1

Ro 12:1 Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God—this is your spiritual act of worship. 

Ro 12:2 Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will. 

 

 

Example: we come to church and we do not engage in worship because we say “what matters is inside – no God calls us to sacrifice our bodies and engage in worship, engage in serving, engage in others.  It is not enough to say “I am a Christian and I gave my heart to Jesus – God clearly calls us here to give our whole body”

We are to offer our energy, time, talent and gifts to God! 

 

 

It’s spiritual to be physical in our act of worship. i.e. this is our spiritual act of worship!

 

 

 

Ro 12:2 Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind

 

So we see two parts here. The body must be willing to act its way into a new mindset and the body must be willing to transform its mind.

i.e. you have to do the physical work to transform your mind.
