Market Close 27 Dec 17: Flat start to holiday-shortened week

The Aussie market faded from fresh (near) 10-year highs hit this morning to finish completely flat on Wednesday. Gains from mining and energy stocks offset losses from three of the big four banks. Volume was very light.
