Perelandra is a book of speculative theology using narrative to do what straight forward theology or philosophy can't. In some ways it has mini dialogues in a fantasy/science fiction wrapper. In Chapter 7 Weston arrives in Perelandra to colonize, but Weston is not really under his own control. He has discovered spirituality is wants to share his new-found knowledge with Ransom. Nothing goes as Weston imagines it should and the great Rebellious Spirit emerges.
