An ambitious project to engage citizens across the EU to help shape Europe’s future will be launched today in the European Parliament in Strasbourg (13:00 – 14:30 Irish time).
The Conference on the Future of Europe will be a year-long event that aims to involve citizens’ participation from all corners of the Bloc.
European, national, regional and local authorities as well as civil society and other organisations, will be able to organise events and contribute ideas on Europe’s future. Much of the engagement will take place virtually as Covid 19 will limit physical events. A multi-lingual digital platform has been set up to enable contributors to get involved.
Green MEP Grace O’Sullivan says it will give EU citizens an opportunity to determine what kind of Europe they want to live in.
