EP 2: Pennsylvania Nursing Drama Involving Nurse Erica

In June, 2023 the Pennsylvania House of Representatives passed HB106 The Patient Safety Act which would mandate minimum nurse-patient staffing ratios. A letter sent to PA legislators from over 400 PA nurse leaders opposing HB106 and staffing ratios was made public on the PA Hospital Association website. When Nurse Erica shared the list of over 400 names, there was a concerted damage control campaign among PA hospitals, including allegedly telling employees that Erica fabricated the 23 page letter.
