As Christians, we are called to deny ourselves—specifically, our soul. There is a clear distinction between the spirit, soul, and body. The soul encompasses our emotions, feelings, and intellect. To truly live for Christ, we cannot be driven by the desires of our soul. If we seek to experience the fullness of God, we must not only hear His Word but also live it out, denying the selfish nature of our soul and surrendering fully to His will.
