26. Working with Stanley Kubrick with Joe Turkel

In todays show, we will be speaking with Joe Turkel, who started his acting career in 1949. He has worked with some of the best directors in the business, including William Castle, Lewis Milestone, Sam Fuller, William Wyler, Paul Wendkos, Buzz Kulik, Edward Dmytryk, Bryan Forbes, Robert Wise, Roger Corman and Ridley Scott. His TV appearances have included, The Lone Ranger, Highway Patrol, Broken Arrow, Dragnet, Bat Masterson, Wagon Train, Riptide, The Untouchables, Combat, Bonanza, Ironside, Police Story, Kojak, Fantasy Island and Miami Vice. He has appeared in over 60 movies, with the likes of, Shelley Winters, Tony Curtis, Richard Widmark, Jack Palance, Karl Malden, Doris Day, James Cagney, Mickey Rooney, Anthony Quinn, Ann Bancroft, Jane Wyman, Charlton Heston, Sterling Hayden, Timothy Carey, William Holden, Deborah Kerr, Gary Cooper, Anthony Perkins, Ronald & Nancy Reagan, Bob Hope, Kim Novak, Kirk Douglas, Henry Fonda, Robert Blake, Jerry Lewis, Pat Boone, Sammy Davis Jr, Alan Ladd, George Peppard, Martin Balsam, Beau Bridges, George Sea gal, Tom Courtenay, James Fox, Denholm Elliot, John Mills, Leonard Rossiter, Steve McQueen, Richard Attenborough, Candice Bergen, Jason Rawbards, Ralph Meeker, Frank Silvera, Bruce, Durn, Keenan Wynn, Jack Lemmon, George C Scott, Burgess Meredith, Richard Pryor, Jack Nicholson, Harrison Ford, and Rutger Hauer.

…and of course, Joe appeared in three Kubrick movies, The Killing (1956), Paths of Glory (1957) and The Shining (1980) and that’s why we welcome him, into “Kubrick’s Universe”
