In Matthew 5:9 Jesus pronounces a blessing on the peacemakers because they will be called sons of God. The last two Sundays we have examined the vertical element of peace: Peace with God. Sons of God are at peace with God. But true peace with God will lead to peaceful relationships with others, especially others who themselves have peace with God.
