The International Criminal Court has opened a preliminary probe into war crimes committed during the Israel-Palestine conflict. Israel, which is not a party to the Rome Statute that governs the court, has denied all allegations and called on allies to reject the investigation. Meanwhile, many human rights observers are celebrating the move, saying that Israel is being held accountable for crimes committed during its occupation of Palestine.
Today, join the Global Current as Analysts Annie Hebel and Jackie Ballard break down the investigation, its supporters and detractors, and what it means for Israel and its allies. Before our discussion, News Briefer Daniela Maquera updates us on pressing news around the world.
