US Mid-Session 8 Dec 16: Record run on the DOW continued, Euro stocks higher AUD lifts

US sharemarkets posted solid gains on Thursday in line with Europe. Nine of the 11 S&P 500 sectors rose led by real estate. But healthcare and pharmaceuticals fell after President-elect Donald Trump vowed to bring down drug prices. With an hour of trade to go, the Dow Jones index was up by 252 points or 1.3% with the S&P 500 index up by 0.9% while the Nasdaq gained 48 points or 0.9%.
