20 questions to eliminate complaining
- What is the complaint/problem?
- Who is involved?
- On a scale of 1-10 one being I have never seen them before and ten being I live with them, how important is this relationship to me?
- How are they affected?
- What are the unknowns?
- How can the unknowns become known?
- How would knowing the unknowns fix or exacerbate the problem?
- Is there any other communication that needs to happen?
- What is the best way for that communication to take place?
- What parts of the problem am I grateful for?
- How am I grateful for the people involved in this problem?
- What are the threats to my relationship with the people involved?
- How can I reduce those threats?
- What is within my control relating to this whole situation?
- What is not within my control relating to this whole situation?
- What are my desired outcomes?
- What are my options?
- What are the risks of said options?
- What is the best option with the least risk?
- What option did I choose?
