Mid-Session 7 Nov 17: ASX 200 briefly hits 6,000

The local sharemarket is charging ahead, up 0.7% thanks to strong gains from the mining & energy stocks. The ASX 200 is trading at 5,995, after briefly hitting 6,000 in early trade.
