Mid-Session 6 Aug 18: Local shares climb to start the week

The Australian sharemarket is recovering some recent losses helped by strong gains in the materials and financial sectors as miners BHP & Rio Tinto lift. The ASX 200 is up 30 points or 0.5% to 6265 with lighter trade due to the bank holiday in NSW.
