Mid-Session 13 Aug 18: Tensions escalate between the US & Turkey

The Australian sharemarket has kicked off the week in negative territory, held back by concerns over US-Turkey tensions. The Turkish lira tumbled 18% on Friday, after talks between the US and Turkey on steel and aluminium tariffs stalled.
