AM Report 4 Apr 18: US Higher as cars sales roared, Spotify list and Amazon rebounded

US sharemarkets rose on Tuesday. Shares in automakers rose in response to solid sales figures. Shares in Spotify debuted on Tuesday at US$165.90 and ended trade at US$149.01 or up 12.9% from the US$132 reference price. Shares in Amazon rose by 1.5% after a volatile session. Shares in Tesla rose by 6% on upgraded production guidance. At the close of trade, the Dow Jones index was higher by 389 points or 1.7% after earlier being up by 400 points. The S&P 500 index was up by 1.3% while the Nasdaq lifted by 71 points or 1.0%.
