During these 50 days of Easter we celebrate the fact that God is in the "raising" business. God resurrects or redeems that which was of no value to full value. In John 21, when Peter says "I'm going fishing!", it is a deliberate turning back to life as it was before Jesus. Peter has hit bottom! It is at this point that God, through Jesus, intervenes and restores Peter to his task of being a fisher of humans. Peter's faith, hope, and love of Jesus is resurrected.
