Welcome to the Active Listening podcasting site.
In this 'blog' my aim is to present a range of audio resources that you can use to develop strategies for active listening. Along the way you will learn new things, obtain new perspectives or remind yourself of what you already know.
As you listen think about how you can help other learners to understand the clips more easily. Think about which strategies are most helpful to you and share your ideas.
To begin here is an extract from a radio broadcast about active listening. You will hear a political commentator speaking about politicians who don't listen and you will hear extracts from three Prime Ministers. The last is a very old recording. You will learn how to listen. Don't worry, no one understands anything the first time around and it really doesn't matter. Sometimes we really can't catch it. What we can do is learn some strategies and that is what the pages of this site are all about.
When you have listened to this page listen to some of the other audio files and when you think you're ready listen to the crackly extract again on the Politics page.
You can post comments about anything you listen to on this site at the foot of this page.
