What if: our instinct was to learn from people we didn’t like? (Greg @ Field)

Here’s what happens: We keep things that threaten us away from us. If we can’t keep them away, we try to get rid of them, or make them into something that doesn’t threaten us. That’s all well and good, except that often times the reason we feel threatened is just because something is different; it's only our comfort level that is threatened. What if we didn’t have to worry about that? What if those other ideas, people, practices held the piece we were always missing? God loves different. God loves new.
