Camp Fyrefly

On May 20, Human Rights Radio spoke with James McNinch, Dean of the Faculty of Education at the University of Regina about Camp Fyrefly, a summer camp for GBLTI youth.  Also joining us was Dudley Philips, one of last year's outstanding camp participants;  Krista Baliko, who co-teaches a course in the U of R Education Faculty entitled Schooling and Sexual Identities and is a board member of Camp Fyrefly:  and Michael Hasmann, who works at the McKenzie Art Gallery and is a presenter and camp cook at Camp Fyrefly.  We discuss the reasons the camp came into existence, what its goals are, and how Camp Fyrefly is a wonderful opportunity for GBLTI youth.
