GODFLIX: The Help (Peter @ Field)

There are times in history when profound shifts in the convention and tradition of the day break loose and new possibilities emerge. We can look around and see what needs to be done, but where does the courage to change come from? Just released in the theaters this week, The Help (the book by Kathryn Stockett) is a story about finding just that kind of courage. The world that God created didn’t include the kind of lines that have been drawn and continue to be drawn every day. It’s one thing to see the injustices around us, it’s entirely another thing to bring about the change that those injustices demand. Join us next week and we’ll take a look at how Stockett’s beautiful story of a group of women unwilling to stay silent is interwoven with the story of a God who calls us to action.
