It’s Not About You

Dealing with obnoxious people is always annoying. I always find though, that it helps to remind myself that it’s not about me. ----more---- When people are acting nasty, it’s not because of something you did or didn’t do. Though they often want you to think that. In reality, whatever their issue is, it’s almost always about them. All they’re trying to do is make you as scared and angry as they are. The way to inoculate yourself against such obnoxiousness is to apply a big heaping dose of compassion. And yes, I realize it will probably just make the obnoxious person even madder. But, it will make you feel a whole lot better.
