Of Mermaids and Manatees

I live in Florida. We have manatees and mermaids. ----more---- I know what you are thinking. Jen – everyone knows mermaids aren’t real. But there are parks in Florida that hire girls to put on underwater shows for tourists at places like Weeki Wachee Springs. And in Florida, these underwater showgirls are called mermaids. Now, if you know anything about mermaids, you know that experts think the legend of the mermaid arose from horny sailors seeing manatees in the water. We have manatees here in Florida too and when you see them, you think – there is no way a sailor could possibly mistake a manatee for a mermaid. Because manatees are basically giant grey see cows. They aren’t the slightest bit attractive or curvy or human-ish. My point is that if you are going to be skeptical and look for an alternate rational explanation for something, and you should, it needs to be plausible. Horny sailors mistaking manatees for mermaids, isn’t plausible. Just saying.
