I’m Nerdy

Often I am reminded of one simple fact about my life. I am nerdy.  Very nerdy. ----more---- According to Meriam Webster: a nerd is someone who is unstylish, socially inept and devoted to intellectual or academic pursuits. I like science fiction, crossword puzzles, all things to do with space and science, classical music, Bollywood films and Glee. Being a nerd is who I am. I have come to realize that I am at my happiest when I am at my nerdiest. I gave up trying to hide my nerdiness years ago. I realized in high school that when it comes to my nerdy impulses, resistance is futile. And if you didn’t get that last reference, I pity you. The point is, do not waste your time worrying about what other people think. Enjoy the things that bring you joy. Even if what you enjoy is admittedly pretty nerdy. You will be happier and the world will be slightly better if you do.
