Constructive Criticism

It happens to all of us. Despite our best intentions, things don’t always go as we planned.

In fact, sometimes, they backfire. Badly.

When that happens, I think it is important to be honest with yourself.

Yes, the critiques people give you of how you could do things better are annoying.

It’s like having a backseat driver, except the person isn’t even in your car, they are watching a video replay after the fact.

However, if you are smart, you will listen to these critiques. Because just maybe, the person giving you advice knows what they are talking about.

They may have already been there, done that, learned that mistake the hard way and figured out how to fix it.

So swallow your pride, let go of your hurt, and frame your mind to think – I’m going to learn all I can to avoid this sort of mistake in the future.
