Which brings to mind young girls frolicking around a phallic pole wrapping it in ribbons. ----more---- It is also International Worker’s Day. Which we don’t celebrate here in America because we don’t seem to like workers as much as we used to. Plus, it’s not as much fun as wrapping a giant pole in ribbons to celebrate fertility. Come to think of it, we don’t do that much anymore either. So what can you celebrate this week? Well, Thursday is the National Day of Reason, which is traditionally celebrated by donating blood. It’s a rational counter to the National Day of Prayer. The idea is we just talk or pray about helping, we actually do something constructive to help. Now that you know the National Day of Prayer is two days away, you can plan your blood donation accordingly. And then you will be all set for Cinco de Mayo on Friday.
