The Kingdom of God: A table of sharing

In October, 2010, Grant Rissler was part of a group from Mennonite Central Committee who were in Haiti helping with relief efforts after the earthquake. Grant shared that Luke 17:20-21 jumped out to him during a worship service there. He began to wonder at the idea of the Kingdom of God among us. Our actions and our giving can help the Kingdom of God to grow. We plant seeds that grow beyond our imaginings. In Haiti, those seeds are growing. We sit together at the table of nations. Sometimes we share that which we have, and sometimes we receive. Haiti, which once was the richest area of the New World, is now frequently referred to as the poorest country in the Americas. Grant reminded us that as we sit at the table of nations, we are called by Christ to share. How will we give? There are many options.
