There is a famous adage: the only people mad at you for speaking the truth are those who are living a lie.

Which is true.

The problem is, just because you think you are speaking the truth, doesn’t mean you are.----more----

It could be that the people you think are mad at you for speaking a truth they don’t want to hear are actually mad at you because you won’t give up your lies.

So.

Before assuming that you are brilliant and that everyone else is an idiot for not believing the same things you do.

Make sure to double check your facts.

The opposition you are getting might just be a desperate attempt to get you to acknowledge reality.

Then again, it might not.

The only way to know for sure is to question whether what you know is really so.

Actually being right and not just thinking you are right is just one of the many benefit of learning how to think critically.
