I am a big fan of saying no.
I guard my personal time zealously.----more---- I know if I overcommit, I will only make myself miserable.
My feeling is it is better to do less well than a bunch of stuff poorly.
But the other day I said yes.
I said yes to a woman whose father had died and needed someone to perform his funeral.
It was last minute and it meant taking time away from my family to console a complete stranger in her grief.
I’m glad I said yes, because, even though I was slightly inconvenienced, I was able to help someone who truly needed the help.
And to me, as a Humanist, there can be no greater calling.
