The importance of ethics

A lot of people treat ethics as if they are something you only need to consider on big occasions.

Like, whether a public policy proposal is good or bad or not.

Or whether we should go to war or not.

The reality is, ethics is how you make little decisions, throughout your day.

Like, are you going to return your shopping cart or not?

How are you going to treat the old man in front of you at the supermarket who can’t quite work the card swipe machine?

Thinking actively about the ethics of your day to day decisions IS how you live life intentionally.

It is a choice to intentionally view all your decisions through the lens of your ethics that provides meaning and purpose to your life.

Ethics isn’t about the big things.

It’s about the little things.

And the little things are important.
