Banks tell us that along with ATM's Americans love their ability to check the balance of their accounts online. The reason is clear, they want to know where they stand so they can pay a bill or buy something. The need to check our 'life account' is no less important, but we don't do it nearly as often. Consequently we don't know where we stand in terms of what life is really about.
