What about going on a hike or tour up an active volcano summit? Backpackers and Eco-Gringos just love doing stuff like that. Well yes, it is a very excellent adventure… but I don’t recommend it. Not that the volcano itself is life threatening or extraordinarily dangerous. You won’t get trapped in lava or pelted with steaming rocks; nothing so Indiana Jones-ish. Instead, there’s a good chance you’ll get mugged along the way.
