The Eighth Commandment: You Shall Not Steal

Exodus 20, Matthew 5, and Questions 110-111 of the Heidelberg Catechism God forbids outright theft, but in His sight this also includes cheating, fraudulent merchandising, charging excessive interest and more.  Jesus wants us to recognize the fleeting nature of material possessions, that we might give our attention to things of eternal significance instead.
