“Saints are people whose lives reflect the goodness of God.” This definition by Joyce Rupp of the word “saint” was only on of the definitions used by Barbara Moyer Lehman to introduce her sermon on All Saints Sunday. During this annual worship celebration at Park View Mennonite Church we remember those from this congregation who have died. Being a saint means to belong to God. It does not mean to be famous or perfect. But when we are around saintly persons we are often called to be better, called to move closer to God. Revelation 7:9-17 paints a beautiful picture of the saints who have gone on before us. We look forward with anticipation to that day when we can join them before the throne of God.
