TEEN ANGST

Episode 2. Originally aired 5/29/08: Today on our show youth producers Amanda, Schuyler, Reed, and Mike discuss teen angst: the truth, the stereotypes, and the clarity and self-consciousness that teen angst inevitably awakens in young minds. Next, our youth deconstruct what adults really mean when they say, “it’s just a phase.” Radio Uprising then interview Colin from HV Skateshop (an independent skateboarding store in downtown Poughkeepsie) about the politics of downloading music, the progression of angst from teenage years into adulthood, and his proposals for main street revitalization through the Poughkeepsie SKART Park (see www.hvsk8.com/psp for more info) Finally, youth producers discuss the taboo of cursing, the FCC’s definition of profanity, why censorship occurs in the media, and whether censorship is ever justifiable.
