Humanism is a philosophy of empowerment.

In order to be free, you first need to make a choice.

And that choice is to make your freedom your responsibility.

If liberates the mind.

In order to advocate for positive social change you first have to be able to see beyond the social constraints placed upon you.

You have to decide who you want to be on your own terms.

Only then can you turn your attention to changing the society in which you live so that society will support you in who you want to be instead of forcing you to be who society needs you to be.

Liberation, empowerment and freedom all start with a choice and thqt choice is to think for yourself.

Which is why freethought is a central feature of Humanism.
