Fear makes people stupid

How compassion can help ease your fears and keep you from doing something stupid

My son is 7 now.

He has rediscovered Star Wars.----more----

We recently watched episode 3, where Anakin transforms into Darth Vader.

Here is my son’s synopsis of what happens in that movie.

Anakin is afraid to loose Padme.

His fear causes him to do some really stupid and horrible things.

Or to quote Yoda: “fear leads to anger. Anger leads to hate. Hate leads to suffering.”

We are all prone to being stupid because of our fears.

Just like in Star Wars, the Humanist approach to easing fear is compassion, for ourselves and others.
