Evan Kanarakis graduated from Sydney University in 1998 with a degree in Arts Law and a Master of Arts in History but soon opted for more stable career paths, first in music, as co-founder of record label Reverb Music, and later as a full-time writer with the publication of his 2003 book Sex, Drugs & Mum In The Front Row. A freelance journalist for over ten years, he is editor of the online music magazine Gas Can (www.gascanmag.com) and The Cud (www.thecud.com.au), and founded the skateboard company Devil Street Decks (www.devilstreetdecks.com) in 2010. He lives in New York City.
